Our story
Sophie started in 2023 when our founders - experienced technology consultants who'd spent years helping large enterprises adopt AI - noticed something frustrating: all the AI benefits were going to big business, while small businesses were left behind.
The enterprise consultants charged $300/hour. The AI tools assumed you had an IT department. The advice online was either too technical or too vague to be useful. Small business owners were either avoiding AI entirely or wasting money on solutions that didn't fit.
We built Sophie to change that. Based in Melbourne, we work exclusively with Victorian SMBs - tradies, retailers, hospitality venues, professional services firms, and healthcare practices. We speak plain English, charge reasonable rates, and focus on tools that work with the software Australian businesses already use: Xero, MYOB, ServiceM8, Deputy, and Square.
Our goal is simple: help 1,000 Victorian small businesses adopt AI by 2027. Not with bleeding-edge tech that sounds impressive in a pitch deck, but with practical tools that save time, reduce admin burden, and help owners get back to doing what they love.
